Common causes

Usually the circuit is telling you something.

Faulty appliance
A damaged kettle, heater, washer or outdoor device can trip the board.
Moisture or weather
Water ingress after rain, storms or cleaning can trigger a protective trip.
Overload or wiring fault
Older wiring or too many loads on one circuit can create recurring trips.
Worth knowing

The unplug test, properly explained

Turn the safety switch back on, then unplug everything on the affected circuit before switching individual appliances back on one at a time. If a specific appliance trips it again, that's your answer — a faulty appliance, not a wiring fault. If nothing you plug back in trips it, the problem is more likely in the fixed wiring or the switch itself.

Either way, a repeat trip after this test is worth booking in — a safety switch tripping is doing its job, but the underlying cause still needs to be found.
